This is me. This is my story.

My name is Danielle Monroe, Founder and Owner of RefillMeStat. I have been a Physician Assistant (now known as Physician Associate) in FL since 2009.
I started out working in the ER for the first 8 years of my career, where I would see a substantial percentage of patients present solely for a prescription refill. They were usually seasonal residents, or travelers, here in FL for a period of time and they had run out of refills on their medications. They would come in, tell us what they were on and sometimes hours and always hundreds of dollars later, they walked out with a script in hand, then had to find a pharmacy (that was open) and wait for their med to be filled. This frustrated me. There had to be a better way.
Build it.
I initially tried to pursue this idea in 2010. Laws wouldn’t allow it. You needed an in-person face-to-face with a patient. Then this little thing called COVID happened, laws changed and telehealth boomed. By this time, I was practicing in a new subspecialty and had been out of the ER for years, so I thought maybe I had missed my opportunity. Were patients still seeking out ERs and Urgent Cares for this complaint? A few phone calls to friends still on the front line (in the ER), confirmed it’s still a problem. There is still a need. With some much needed encouragement from other healthcare providers, friends and family, I took the plunge. The vision I have for RefillMeSTAT is huge.
